Cause Of Hemorrhoids
What is the main
cause of hemorrhoids? Why some people have them
and some don't? Our life style is the # 1 hemorrhoids cause, lack
of foods high in fiber, lack of exercises, bad bowel habits,
genetics, too much alcohol, etc.
However today we know
that the main cause of hemorrhoids is lack of foods high in fiber,
insufficient water intake and lack of movement are the main
causes. Another
possible hemorrhoid cause is genetics, it is quite possible to
inherit a tendency to develop hemorrhoids.
We can divide hemorrhoid
causes on several groups:
1. Improper
nutrition - Lack of foods high in fiber in our diet,
little or no whole grain breads, cereals, raw vegetables and fruits
causing constipation or diarrhea. Not drinking enough water, or
drinking to much coffle, soft drinks and alcohol. Too much red
meat, white bread, spicy foods and candies.
2. Bad bowel
movement habits - Not going to the bathroom as soon
as we feel the urge. Straining during passing stool, caused by hard
stool, which is again caused by lack of foods high in fiber in our
diet. Reading during bowel movement, which causes prolonged
sitting, which causes unnecessary pressure on veins in the lower
rectum.
3. Daily
activities - Too much sitting or standing, causing again
pressure on veins in the lower rectum. Driving to work instead
taking a public transport, bike or walking. Little or no
exercise.
4. Lack of
personal hygiene - No washing up after the bowel
movements, forget the paper use a bidet, shower or moist vipes with
Witch Hazel like Tucks.
5. Pregnancy and
childbirth - Hormonal changes along with increased
pressure of fetus on the veins in anal canal.
6. Being
overweight - Excess weight causes pressure on veins in
anal canal.
7. Medical
conditions - Anal infection, liver or heart disease, or
even tumors in the pelvic area can cause hemorrhoids to
bulge.
8. Too much
rubbing and cleaning around anus - Don't use toilet paper,
wash up after bowel movements or use moist towels like
Tucks.
9.
Aging - Not your fault, just make sure to eat
plenty of foods high in fiber, fruits, vegetables and drink lots of
water. Anything of the above can be the cause of hemorrhoids,
usually it is several of these causes combined that are the
problem.
