Symptoms
Acute thrombosis, recurring thrombosis and personal hygiene problems are symptoms of external hemorrhoids.
Pain caused by rapid swelling of the clot and edema around it, causing very tender skin, full of nerve endings to become over
stretched. It usually lasts for one to two weeks.
When finally edema subsides, excess skin or ''skin tags'' is what stays behind as a reminder. This causes very frequent personal hygiene
problems, and it is very difficult to effectively apply any ointment based external hemorrhoids treatment to the area.
Treatment
First of all you should change your lifestyle:
- Add more fiber to your diet gradually, little by little each day over a month, until you reach 25 - 35 g per day, take fiber
supplements like Doctor's Trust Colon Care.
- Eat more fruit and vegetables and whole grain foods.
- Try to keep anus area clean by washing after bowel movement, avoid rigorous rubbing or cleaning by toilet paper, use moist
towels or baby wipes lime Tucks, wash up in the shower or bidet.
- Don't strain or sit to long during bowel movements.
- Use ice packs several times a day to relieve pain and itching.
- Drink plenty of water.
- Exercise at least 30 minutes 4 times per week, you don't need to go to the gym, walk, and jog or drive a bike.
- Avoid prolonged sitting, alcohol or spicy food.
- Take sitz baths (10 - 15 minutes, three times per day), more if needed.
- Use soothing hemorrhoids creams like Zenmed Ziro.
- Take hemorrhoids pills like VenaPro.
It is important to deal with hemorrhoids causes in the same time you deal with symptoms, without removing the causes the symptoms
will return. If all this steps does not help, clot will be excised or drained by your doctor, performing a small surgery with local
anesthetic.
However if the vein that causes blood clotting is not excised, it is almost certain that blood clot will form in the same place
once more causing another external thrombosed hemorrhoids flare up. Few people decide to visit their doctor because of hemorrhoids
problems. Usual reason for this is embarrassment, also many people think that examination for hemorrhoids is painful which is not always
correct.
If the hemorrhoids persist and don't go away by them self's in a while you should definitely visit your doctor for thorough
examination. Many of the more serious problems like colon cancer have similar symptoms as hemorrhoids so it's best to be sure.
